WInterizing and Gas
« on: September 09, 2016, 08:21:31 AM »
I have changed my recommendation regarding winterizing and fuel treatment to the following:
Add fuel stabilizer (Stabil) to the tank prior to your last outing to ensure good mixing and flow through the various hoses and carb/injectors.
When winterizing DRAIN or siphon or pump the remaining fuel from your tank and burn it in your lawn mowers or car.

I serviced several boats this summer that would not run because of sour gas in the tank, in several cases the owners added stabil the previous year, and used only non-ethonal fuels. So I am now recommending to get as much fuel as possible out of the boat, and add fresh fuel and filter in the spring.
